Vince Harder is an extremely talented performing artist, recording artist, producer and songwriter.
Vince was born and raised in West Auckland where his love of music and performing flourished.
After attending the performing arts school “Excel” in 1999, he co-founded a performing arts Group “Jireh” which spent 3 years touring New Zealand and Australia and had notable concerts and performances including the Parachute Festival which hosts 25,000 people each year.
In 2003, Harder won the lead role of “Simba” in Disney’s Australian stage production “The Lion King”, directed by Julie Taymor.
After a year in this role he decided to pursue some other musical interests and became a dancer for Guy Sebastian on his “Beautiful Life” Tour.
In 2005, he came 3rd in the first Australian TV version of The X Factor, Simon Cowell’s music talent show, beating over 100,000 people who originally auditioned for a place in the finals.
In 2008 after moving back to New Zealand, Harder collaborated with renowned DJ/Producer P- Money to release one of the biggest songs to come out of New Zealand in the last five years. “Everything” soared to number one on the Kiwi charts in 2008 and then quickly jumped the ditch where it ascended the Australian airplay charts.
The following year the single made its mark in Britain when it was named Record of the Week on the notable BBC Radio 1.
2009/10 were years of live gigs for Harder which meant performing to audiences of more than 100,000 people including the main support slot on Teddy Riley’s Blackstreet arena tour of Australia & New Zealand, and a show-stealing, headline performance on TV3’s Coca Cola Christmas in the Park concerts in Christchurch and Auckland.
In 2011 Vince released his self-produced, debut solo album “The Space Between Us”, featuring a host of esteemed guests including K.One, Pieter T, Ria, Young Sid, PNC, Dei Hamo and David Dallas.
Included on the album are his three top twenty urban radio hits – the velvety smooth opener “Say This With Me”, the laid-back vibe of “Summer Dayz” featuring Young Sid, and R&B ballad “Alone No More”.
World renowned dance group “Request” also appeared with Harder in his dance anthem “I Want This Forever” also featured on “The Space Between Us” album.
2011 also saw Vince return to the “Christmas in The Park” stage for both Christchurch and Auckland shows.
In February 2012 Vince headed back to the musical theatre stage for the role of “Barry Belson” in “Jersey Boys” for the New Zealand and Australia Tour.
During this year he also wrote and produced an album for New Zealand Boy Band sensation “Titanium”. The album “All For You” includes a range of New Zealand chart topping singles including “Come On Home” which debuted at number 1.
In 2013, Vince has been writing for numerous artists including Stan Walker, Timomatic, Fourtunate and Bonnie Anderson. He finishes his role with Jersey Boys in July and is currently finishing off his 2nd album “It’s The Life” which features the popular single of the same name and also the impressive “Far From Here” (the music video of which was shot in Chile).
He is looking forward to what other music and performing opportunities 2013 will bring.
